Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of a news post on this- I was very sick with who knows what last week- I was in bed all day Sunday and missed some school and just barely slogged through the week. >.< So yeah. I'm feeling a better now though, so here's the newwwws. <3
The Workshop Club! Hellz yeah! Now, on a monthly basis, you can participate in a round-table discussion on user's writing. You can get on the waitlist to get your stuff critiqued, too!
There will eventually be prizes for people who participate, but first we need people to actually BUY stuff. Which you guys aren't. Come on, our shop is perfectly good! Anyway. Workshop club.
The Workshop Club is a place to get your pieces critiqued in a hard-core, round-table fashion. Every month, the piece first on our waiting list is put up for round table critique. Each participant has ten days to submit a critique of the piece, then discussion will begin and continue until the end of the month.
The Piece:
The author will be notified that it is their turn to submit the piece they want to be critiqued. If the author does not respond within five days, the next person on the waiting list will go instead. They must provide the file in either a .doc or a .rtf format, and post it in the thread that says "Current Piece" on it. That forum will then be locked and pinned.
Critiques:
Critiques must be submitted as a .doc or a .rtf file. You submit your critique by attaching the file to a post. Critiques should be an edited version of the original file, provided by the author. When critiquing, you can either make changes straight up or colorcode additions and edits to the original file. You have ten days to complete the critique and turn it to the thread entitled "Discussion and Critiques".
Discussion Rules:
After ten days, discussion will begin. All discussion must fall within the SQ Rules. Please do not be hateful to the author, or risk being taken to the SQ Court and facing punishment. However, please provide helpful comments. In general, use your common sense. If the discussion slows or stops, a mod will ask a question to jump-start discussion again.
