So, wanna know what's in store for SQ 3.0?

• The promotions system. In order to move up ranks, you must pass some writing.
• Couplet Battles
• i.point revision: You will no longer earn points for critiques, period.
• Mystery Classroom: Learn about random things. XD Mostly legends and myths from around the world.
• The Digital Graphics and Art sections will be removed.
• Member prizes will be available to everyone.
• The Hermitage will be removed.
• The Book Club will go on hiatus for quite a while... until we get enough interest to actually start. XD

Things you need to do before the first week of May:

• If you don't have a backup for any of your digital art or Visual Art on here, make one. In general, for any forums that are leaving in 4.0, make sure there isn't anything you want to keep.
• Don't be alarmed at any rank-shifting that might be going on. The ranking system will be deleted due to the promotions system, so everyone will be under the heading of "Member".

Things that are happening right now:

• You may have already noticed that you all have been demoted to the group "Member". Don't feel offended, it's in preparation for the promotions system.
• As a result, all member prizes are available to everyone right now. YAY!

Please post any new ideas for forums you want to see in SQ 4.0 here! I need some ideas, luvs!

no hermitage?! Why???

I'm just looking at forums that aren't active regularly. The Hermitage seems extraneous to me- people can get advice elsewhere. I might set up a better organized way of getting advice.

I want to help with the Legends thingy!!!! Can I be like the legend master or something? I know a lot about Irish and Celtic myths. And some American Indian, and the Indian ones you've taught me.

Also, I think that we should keep the ranks, only do them namually so that the higher-ranking peoples get a mamber title. You know what I'm saying, like on Pandora's.

You can certainly help out! If you want, you can be the co-master. Becuz I really was looking forward to doing that. XD

And we are doing that- we're just doing it through member groups instead of ranks. The Pandora's people do it that way too.

Thanks a lot, but we've got enough help with Legends. I'll shout out if I need some help with other units.

The ranking system, if you've been following the news recently, will no longer depend on posts for you to move up ranks. You have to pass a series of tutorials in order to move up a rank.

I really do have to think about prizes for those higher up. At this time, a Silver Quill has the same benefits as a Wood Pencil with Chewed Eraser, and I do believe I'm going to keep it that way. I don't like to say, "oh, you can only get to the games forum at Cool Laser Pen rank" when in fact you have to be a good enough writer to pass the tutorials.



Something you should also know. I don't want anyone to be disappointed if they don't zoom up the ranks. And I don't want anyone blowing up at me. I'm going to have a few English teachers help me decide rankings. I personally will have no say. The tutorials are also basic things that people should know to be a well-rounded writer, which is ultimately what we want for everyone on this board. That means that if you are a poet and are good at imagery, in order to move up ranks, you MUST be able to produce a good character and a good plot. It's up to you what you write in your extra time- but for these tutorials, you gotta do what we ask you to. We're not going to be soft and say, "Oh, that person's not good at imagery, so we'll just bump them up. They're not a poet after all." No. We're trying to get you good in all areas of writing.


This may seem harsh. This may seem like an English course. But long term, it's really what's best for you as a writer.


That's also why I've taken away the member prizes, because it would just be cruel.

I like this new system. Very well organized.

I also think that short stories should have their own award. Like Rhone's Good, Clean Fun--it won an award, sure, but if there were any other works of writing in there that were longer, Rhone's piece wouldn't've stood a chance.

Same with humor. Humor gets no dice nowadays.

I would like to help with the legends, but you said you already need no more help with that, so I dunno. Is the Coffee Break staying, or changing? Because if it's staying, I'd like to help moderate or help in some way, if possible, now that I'm back.

Hi guys, back again from school...

Saw this and Seddy, I love it.
by the way if you need my help for anything I've plenty of time now; to less classes for me.
I could help a bit with the Mystery Classroom; I've just past my Germanic exam for Irish, Norse, Germanic and Dutch myth and then you've my obsession for everything Egyptian.
(don't want to steal anyones job here, I saw that wordsmith helps out so maybe I could just help a bit)

And for everyone who's sad because of that things will close like the Hermitage and the digital art section, and thinks other art sites are to big. I'm cleaning up a bit my whole life. And on the net I'm starting by making a new (personal)site and stuff, will be done in may. :wink:

For all of you who want to help with Legends- I will need quite a lot of material. Anything that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. You could send me a PM with the basic structure of the theology and gods, or send me specific legends and myths.


(Wordy helps me out because she's the former deputy admin. She just gives a hand here and there sometimes, and I usually keep it at that because I see her on a weekly basis in real life and she knows how to play admin fairly well. As a sidenote, because some people have been wondering, I will NOT accept another deputy unless it's her. :3)

Seddy I get. I'll send you some of the pieces I have maby I can find some things on the web. I'll just see if I'll find some things for you that are usefull like you wanted :P
