Title: Notebook incentive
Description: Come on! Whee!
Sedragore - February 24, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
Okayokayokay. I've been DYING to do this. So I'm putting up a bounty!
If we ever,
ever, get fifty posts a day for three days in a row, I will buy myself a Macbook Air.
Kidding.
I've been
dying to get you guys your own SilverQuill notebooks. They are Wire-o bound, 160 pages, measuring 5" x 8", a handy on-the-go size to fit in your backpack. Go creative and let the muse flow. The back cover is made of thin black flexible textured plastic, front cover of 12pt glossy paper, coated for scratch resistance. It's filled with 60lb bookweight (24 lb bond) paper, unlined.

50 posts a day for three days straight. It's what we used to do regularly, guys, back in the day. Let's get it back!
Please tell me honestly how much you would be willing to pay!
Prometheus - February 24, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
Thats a great idea seddy. Ive always wanted a notebook aside from my school notebooks, which when i write in get all messy. ><
Id be willing to pay 15.00 because if we are going t pay at all we mine as well get the best so it last longer. And its only afew dollars extra.
If people cant afford it, start picking up the change people drop on the street, after a few months ull have enough :D
Sedragore - February 24, 2008 10:24 PM (GMT)
You'd really pay 15 bucks? Seriously? *tacklehugs*
I'm really excited, I love the design and everything!
Prometheus - February 24, 2008 10:26 PM (GMT)
Well 15 isnt that much higher than 10 dollars. I mean the next time i go to the movies ill skip out on the popcorn and that will pay for he extra. :D
I would rather pay 15 for a good notebook then 10 for an okay one :D
Sedragore - February 24, 2008 10:29 PM (GMT)
That's great. I'm not making the actual journal though, so I don't know how high the quality is...however, CafePress is a trusted custom seller thingermajig, so I can only hope that it will be good.
Prometheus - February 24, 2008 10:31 PM (GMT)
I trust your judgement and design. I am willing t place 15 bucks on it too :D
Yay for a SQ journal!
When do we get our T-shirts?
Sedragore - February 24, 2008 10:32 PM (GMT)
Lol, the T-shirts are gonna be MUCH more money than this... that's why I was abstaining.
If you really want something cheap, I could design a thong...
Prometheus - February 24, 2008 10:36 PM (GMT)
Just the comfort i was thinking of seddy! lol, a SQ thong... Well im just gunna say no for now.
But if u get the T-shirts going ever ill buy one. And a sweatshirt to match. Are hats andgloves available? I think im a litle too cold in this car...
Sedragore - February 24, 2008 10:38 PM (GMT)
I may do a t-shirt sometime this summer. That way you can wear it to Redbird! :3
I have to come up with a good design, though. The one on the notebook probably won't work for a shirt.
Prometheus - February 24, 2008 10:41 PM (GMT)
Okay, are u going to the early or late summer RBS? Cuz i believe there is two now.
And did u get the letter that said they changed their name to ROS? Red Oak Studios? I wanted to cry. RBS sounds so much cooler than ROS.
Sedragore - February 24, 2008 10:43 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I know. I'm still just calling it RBS.
Oh btw, you know that they asked me to write a blurb about SQ for the RBS newsletter today? 50-100 words, can you give me any suggestions?
Prometheus - February 24, 2008 10:52 PM (GMT)
Say something like "After meeting at RBS, we became longtime friends and have been helping each other achieve our writing goals and to continue writing. <Enter Helpful Criticism Here>"
TwilightRain - February 25, 2008 02:01 AM (GMT)
Why is the paper in the notebook unlined? I write so much less on unlined paper. I think it's something about all that pristine white...
Yay notebooks! Though I really liked the other design, Seddy, with the blue book and the quill pen and the stuff. It was veeerrrryy cool. Maybe you could put that on the back of a shirt or something? Or on a bag! Yes, that's it! SQ messenger bags!
As for the RBS article, I'd say something about how SQ is like RBS, all the time online. Ha.
Prometheus - February 25, 2008 02:08 AM (GMT)
I think its unlined because this is also an art/design website on the side. I mean its harder to draw on lined paper.
Maybe you should go half lined half blank... like on one side black and the other lined.
Probably would get expensive...
I like this design personally. Dark colors always look better to me.
TwilightRain - February 25, 2008 02:30 AM (GMT)
I like it for the notebook, yes. And I REALLY like the idea of half lined, half blank. I don't care if it's more expensive, I'd pay more for that.
Prometheus - February 25, 2008 02:31 AM (GMT)
Same here. It would make it easier to make plots for writing and if you draw something to give it a subtitle or write about it. Maybe like a story/picture book.
I would pay more as well.
Sedragore - February 25, 2008 03:12 AM (GMT)
I'd also like one of those.
I'm really, really, really sorry, but it's just not possible. I've been scouring the internet for almost an hour now. The only site that prints notebooks with custom cover is CafePress, and they do not allow you to change the paper. I would.....but.....but.....*cries*
Prometheus - February 25, 2008 03:14 AM (GMT)
Aw shucks. We will have to start a paper company and make our own then... WHO WANTS TO MAKE THE COMPANY LOGO?!
jk.
Thanks okay, we will survive... maybe...
Sedragore - February 25, 2008 03:17 AM (GMT)
I'm.... sorry! *runs of bawling*
To be honest, I like unlined paper. That way I can doodle freely.
Prometheus - February 25, 2008 03:19 AM (GMT)
True... maybe you should make line and blank notebooks. I write more than i doodle, so i would want lines. Im not good at drawing for anything.
Sedragore - February 25, 2008 03:24 AM (GMT)
Me neither. But it helps me outline where characters are moving and how the interact. Sometimes I draw diagrams to show where they are going in a scene. It helps make it accurate, so I don't say like "he stood up" twice.
Prometheus - February 25, 2008 03:28 AM (GMT)
I closed a door 4 times in two paragraphs in my Fiery Forge book. I laughed at myself. :D
Alyharania - February 25, 2008 12:58 PM (GMT)
So far I'm the only cheapskate.
I'd pay more for a lined notebook, I suppose; my handwriting is nightmarish when I don't have lines. But I'd buy one either way.
Sedragore - February 25, 2008 03:57 PM (GMT)
I would too... sadly we don't have the choice.
Wordsmith - February 28, 2008 10:45 PM (GMT)
wow, that's so ccol! I want one!
Sedragore - February 29, 2008 12:49 AM (GMT)
*runs n circles* So excited!
